Elmer Stennes Reproduction Samuel Mulliken Massachusetts Shelf Clock

Elmer Stennes Reproduction Samuel Mulliken Massachusetts Shelf Clock

ID: 2370 | Inquire...

Elmer Stennes Reproduction Samuel Mulliken Kidney Dial Massachusetts Shelf Clock. This clock is a ca. 1940 collaboration between Elmer Stennes who made the case, James Conlon, Sr, who made the movement and Edwin Burt, Sr. who made the dial. The clock is one of three reproductions of a ca. 1790 original timepiece made by Samuel Mulliken of Newburyport, MA. The case on case design creates the appearance that the feet of the upper case sit on the lower case which has scalloped molding at the top and fine cast bronze scrolled feet at the front of the bottom. The case is superbly executed in solid plum pudding figured mahogany. The kidney shaped dial is very finely painted and has exquisite beetle and poker hands. The beautifully made 8 day time only movement is in fine condition. A superb very early Stennes reproduction of an exceedingly rare clock.
