Chelsea US Lighthouse Service Clock(SOLD)

Item ID: 1815 - Chelsea US Lighthouse Service Clock. A totally original and very late example. The Boston Clock Co. stamped movement has serial number 27800B and the case has serial number 27800. The Chelsea sales ledger shows that the clock was sold to The Superintendent of Lighthouses on July, 1932. A Chelsea Clock Company Certificate of Origin accompanies the clock. This clock is unusual in that it has a nickel plated movement marked Boston Clock Co. which according to Andy Demeter's "Chelsea Clock Company, The First hundred Years" was an affiliate of Chelsea Clock Co. formed on July 14, 1909. The Boston Clock Co. movements and parts were nickel plated as opposed the Chelsea parts which were natural finish or gold plated. The dial, case and hands are all in very fine original condition. Chelsea 8 1/2" Base & Ball Feet Clock with Fine Original Gold Finish(SOLD)

Item ID: 1634 - Chelsea 8 1/2" Base & Ball aka Commodore. Serial number 186997 dates the clock to 1929. The very rare brushed gold finish is original and in superb condition. It is exceedingly difficult to find early Chelsea clocks with original finish in such fine condition. Examples with unusual original finishes like this clock are prized by Chelsea collectors. The engraved, filled and silvered dial has been restored. The ships bell movement has been serviced. The clock keeps excellent time and strikes with fine Chelsea tone. The Chelsea sales ledger show that the clock was originally sold to B. J. Booke & Sons on March 29, 1929. Email me if you have questions.

ID: 1801 - Chelsea Clock Co. 8 1/2" Special Dial Base & Ball Feet - Time Only. An uncommon and very early example. Serial number 18172 on the movement and case bottom dates the clock to 1905. Item ID: 1757 - Chelsea Clock Company US Lighthouse Service Clock. Serial number 75884 on the case dates the clock to 1912. The movement has serial number 93220. The clock has been totally restored and is in perfect condition. The case has been nickel plated, the dial and reflector ring were resilvered and the movement has been serviced.
