Chelsea 12" Dial Nonmagnetic Marine Clock - ca. 1903 (Sold)
Item ID: 1306 - This is an exceedingly rare, very early, Chelsea Clock Company 12” Dial Nonmagnetic Marine Clock. The clock is completely original. The case and movement are numbered 9809 which dates the clock to 1903. The case is 15” in diameter and weighs 22 pounds. The hinged bezel has a key lock with the original key. The case is in superb condition. The silvered dial with Roman numerals is marked Chelsea Clock Company, Boston below the winding arbor and Nonmagnetic above the seconds bit. Waltham 12" Dial Marine Clock (Sold)
Item ID: 1400 - This is a ca. 1905 Waltham 12" dial Marine Clock. Rare! Rare! Rare clock. This is one of only two known to exist. 8DTO, 12-inch ship's clock signed on the dial, "Waltham.” The clock retains its original 12-inch silver dial with engraved and waxed Arabic numerals. Above the center is a large 2-inch subsidiary second dial with a slow/fast adjustment located between 55 and 5 seconds. The clock retains its very heavy yellow brass case. The bezel is stamped “16” as is the inside case back. The bezel measures 1 3/4 inches in width and has a deep molded flange. There is a beautiful shield shaped hinge mounted on the left and a release button on the right. The back of the case is signed, "WALTHAM CLOCK COMPANY". The movement retains its original gold gilding and is marked by the maker along with serial number 50140 stamped on its back plate. The clock is in excellent running order. King Menns invented the Chelsea ship's bell and he undertook a venture with the Waltham Clock Company in 1905 where he designed the Waltham ship's clock. These clocks are very rare and a 12-inch model is extremely rare. This is only one of two known examples. The clock measures 14 3/8 inches in diameter with a depth of 3 3/8 inches.

The original surface painted dial is in fine condition. The hour hand and counter balanced minute hand are both original. A rare and desirable clock.

Item ID: 1526 - Ca. 1916. Chelsea Clock Company 12" Special Dial Nickel Plate Pilothouse Clock. The case has the original brushed nickel finish. The special dial with raised bronze numerals and pierced serpentine hands is marked "The Cowell & Hubbard Company, Cleveland". The case and movement are marked with serial number 106437. E. Howard & Co. Marine Clock - 12" Dial (Sold)
Item ID: 1239 - This is a an exceedingly rare, ca. 1880, E. Howard & Co., Boston Marine Clock with 12" dial. The clock is truly superb with fine original patina. The brass case is 16" in diameter and weighs 30 pounds.. The 12" silvered dial is numbered 247707 at the bottom. The fine quality movement with decorated nickel plates is marked E. Howard & Co, Boston and has serial number 14. The Howard catalogs describe their marine clocks as follows: "These clocks are designed to fill a want long felt for clocks for locomotives, steamships, yachts, etc. The workmanship in these clocks is equal to that of a chronometer, having a chronometer balance, and is fully jeweled in the escapement and can be fully adjusted if required." Item ID: 1449 - E. Howard 10" Dial Marine Clock in a Star Brass Mfg. Co., Boston brass case. The clock is in fine restored condition. The dial has been resilvered. The hands have been blued. The case has been polished and lacquered. There is a very minor hairline crack in the bezel that is shown in the photos. The superb E. Howard movement has damascened plates and jeweled escapement. Chelsea 8 1/2" Mahogany & Metal (Sold)
Item ID: 1476 - Early Chelsea Clock Company Mahogany & Metal or, as known later, Commander with 8 1/2" special dial. The base is ebonized. the numerals and hands are finished in black oxide. This early clock has the unusual hour hand that was used by Chelsea for a very short time. Serial number 15021 dates the clock to 12/10/1904.

Chelsea "Pilot House" Clock - 8 1/2" Dial (Sold)
Item ID: 1333 - Ca. 1916 Chelsea Clock Company "Pilot House" Clock. The brass case is 10 1/8" in diameter at the bezel and 10 5/8" at the back flange. The case is 2 7/8" deep. The silvered, engraved and filled dial is 8 1/2" in diameter and signed George E. Butler, San Francisco below the hand arbor and Chelsea above the second hand arbor. The movement is numbered 16893. The case is numbered 16893 with the number 8 restamped above the number 8. The clock is in fine original condition. The solid mahogany base is not by Chelsea but is finely made and fits the clock perfectly. The clock is in good running order. Chelsea 3 3/4" Ships Bell Clock and Barometer (Sold)
Item ID: 1099 - This is a ca. 1968, Chelsea Clock Company, Chelsea, Mass., Ships Bell Clock and Barometer. The 3 3/4" dials are silvered. The solid brass cases are 4 7/8" in diameter. The clock is marked #731972 and the movement bears the same number. The matching Chelsea holosteric barometer is marked 1-68. The 8 day time and ships bell strike movement is in good running order and strikes with fine Chelsea tone. The strike can be silenced by a lever on the dial. The barometer is working properly. It is uncommon to find a Chelsea clock and barometer in this size and fine condition. Email me if you have questions.
